The project involves the construction of a new, modern hospital pavilion, designed to expand an existing facility dedicated to children’s healthcare, including services for patients with disabilities.
The new pavilion comprises a ward wing, a laboratory wing, and a recreational and therapeutic swimming pool also intended for motor rehabilitation. The basement level houses the underground parking area, mechanical and electrical plants, operating rooms, and diagnostic facilities, as well as the canteen and reception area.
The main building features a steel-and-glass hall enclosing a welcoming atrium, conceived as an indoor public square. The two lateral wings, built in reinforced concrete, are characterized by ventilated façades made of overlapping porcelain stoneware panels framing large glazed surfaces shaded by adjustable brise-soleil louvers.
The swimming pool structure combines steel and glued laminated timber, enclosed by double-height glazed façades and topped with a green roof that helps regulate the indoor temperature. The entire complex is surrounded by greenery and designed with particular care for the young patients it accommodates.
