The project involved the expansion of the Industrie Cosmetiche Riunite (ICR) plant in Lodi, through the construction of a new production building and a warehouse, complemented by mechanical and electrical installations, internal roads, parking areas, loading bays, and supporting infrastructure.

The development covered an area of approximately 32,000 sqm, located south of the existing facility along Provincial Road 25. The new structures expand the site’s operational capacity and were designed to ensure maximum functionality and strong integration with the surrounding landscape, in close proximity to the Adda Sud Natural Park.

The production hall (Building A) was constructed using a precast prestressed reinforced concrete structure, with a 10 x 23.30 m structural grid and a clear height of 6 m under beam. The roof, made of precast wing-shaped elements, includes operable skylights for natural ventilation and smoke evacuation. The warehouse (Building B) has similar characteristics, with a 10 x 21.80 m grid and a clear height of 14.70 m.

The perimeter façades are composed of smooth, through-colored precast concrete panels, enhanced with recessed geometric patterns and polycarbonate inserts backlit by LEDs, designed to reduce the visual impact and emphasize the architectural identity of the complex.

Inside the buildings, service areas and technical rooms were created. Building A is equipped with heating and cooling systems, while Building B features mechanical air exchange without air conditioning. The project also includes two connection tunnels linking the new buildings to the existing plant and a new electrical substation supplying power to the expanded sections.

The design incorporates sustainable construction strategies, including water-saving devices and solutions to improve indoor thermal and humidity comfort, minimizing the environmental impact of the intervention.
