The new Lavazza Headquarters is located in the Aurora district of Turin, on the site of the former Enel power plant, within an urban area undergoing major transformation. Designed by Cino Zucchi Architetti, the complex covers 30,000 sqm and combines new constructions with restored historical buildings. The project brings together the company’s administrative staff in a single location, merging environmental sustainability, architectural quality, and openness to the urban context.
The main building, with its fluid form inspired by a “cloud”, occupies an entire city block and interacts with the existing structures converted to new functions: the Lavazza Museum, the former Enel power station, the IAAD headquarters, and spaces for events and dining. The project also includes a new public square, pedestrian paths, green areas, and the restoration and enhancement of an early Christian archaeological site.
From a construction standpoint, the project features cast-in-place post-tensioned reinforced concrete structures, a triple-glazed façade with solar shading systems, and high-efficiency MEP installations. The ground floor accommodates publicly accessible functions, while office spaces are distributed across the upper levels, organized into fluid layouts and flexible environments designed to foster well-being, collaboration, and informal interaction.
The headquarters has achieved LEED Gold certification. Among the adopted sustainability measures are the use of groundwater, low-consumption systems, rainwater harvesting, photovoltaic panels, and charging stations for electric vehicles.
