Located in the municipality of Basiglio (Milan), Milano 3.0 is a new residential development comprising six buildings and 260 apartments with an A4 energy rating. Designed by Alfonso Femia / Atelier(s), the project revisits the original urban planning model of Milano 3, reinterpreting the garden-city concept through a contemporary architectural language.

The development is organized around a central landscaped courtyard, a shared space that connects the private dimension of the home with the collective dimension of communal areas. The urban layout integrates the built environment with the surrounding landscape through pedestrian paths and green areas distributed throughout the site. A circular pedestrian and cycling path runs around the entire development and connects to the provincial cycling network.

The building façades are clad with custom-designed diamond-pattern ceramic elements, creating a three-dimensional effect while recalling the historic color palette of Milano 3. The architectural composition is articulated through terraces, loggias, glazed bay windows, and layered planted elements, which contribute to the distinctive architectural identity of the development.

LEED Silver certified, the complex incorporates high-efficiency building systems, including geothermal systems, photovoltaic panels, advanced home automation solutions, and air quality monitoring devices. Particular attention has also been given to water efficiency through low-consumption fixtures and automatic leak detection systems.

The project is further enhanced by a range of shared spaces and amenities designed to support residents’ daily needs and encourage community life.
