The complex is located on an area of 9 hectares that, until 2008, housed a historic tobacco factory. After a careful recovery of the spaces, today in place of the old factory is located the Manufacture Project, the hub of sustainable innovation of the Provincia Autonoma of Trento, as well as an international reference for the green economy and sports industry sector. Part of the redevelopment of the site that is interested by the execution of the program related to the Manifattura-Green Innovation Factory (Section B), consists of the creation of production space and offices, research laboratories, a university department, an auditorium, a gym, exhibition areas, a restaurant and other services below a walkable vegetable cover (28,000 square meters) that will imitate the vineyards’ road of the surrounding valleys and will reconnect the former Manifatturato the River Leno, whose riverside will be equipped with pedestrian paths and bike paths. The sustainable design that covers all phases of the intervention is implemented through low emissions and high energy efficiency.
